Raclette Party

what’s a raclette party? well, raclette is a cheese indigenous to switzerland and the savoie region of france, and is most commonly used for melting. it is then scraped onto dinner plates. the term raclette means “to scrape”.

our friends threw a raclette party some time ago.  they used a table-top electric grill (also called a raclette grill) that serves 8.

(above L: the top layer is for the meat. the middle layer, to melt the raclette; above R: the pan to melt the raclette, piled with mushrooms, tomatoes and peppers)

it was a great evening overall. a new experience shared with great people!
