adventures in crochet

i had a couple of skeins of yarn so i decided to get a hook (5.5mm) and some darning needles and (re)learned to crochet.

single crochet

 bobble stitch

i attempted this really pretty pattern and it was a tough one!

moss stitch (or linen stitch)

donut coaster

then the subsequent ones turned out smaller than a standard coaster size – ack!

love the color of these wool yarns!

as tough as crocheting in the round is, crocheting in rows has its own challenges, and i think the trick is maintaining consistent tension through the piece; otherwise, the edge of your piece will have wavy/bowed out edges even when you made the right number of stitches. will keep on truckin!

in case you’re interested, this is the beginner crochet series i followed on youtube from bhooked crochet.
